Big Boy Bed

There's a lot of talk in our house lately about being a "big boy." Sam has a lot going on - potty training (kind of), a new bedroom, new bed, and new little brother coming. We talk about being a big boy a lot. Also, in case you didn't know, Daddy is a big boy, Mommy is a big girl, Chloe is a big girl, and Ace is a big boy (although Ben disagrees and would classify Ace under the "big girl" category).

Last night, Sam slept in his big boy bed for the first time! He was so excited it was hard to get him to wind down. We made a big production of bringing his "friends" over from his crib into his bed, all climbed into bed and read a story, turned on his music, kissed him goodnight with instructions to wait for Mommy and Daddy to get up in the morning, and then crossed our fingers. And it worked! He did wake up around 3:30 and I could hear him hollering about something. When I checked on him, he asked for help with his covers and for the music to be turned on. After that, he was fine. Woke up around 8:30 talking to himself until we went in. We were so proud of him!
