Free Museum Night!

Friday night we went to the Cincinnati Museum Center for the free museum night they have every month. Sam liked it even more than we thought he would. Ben has only been to the special exhibits there, so we went to the Natural History museum area first. I thought Sam might be kind of interested in the things there, but he loved it! It wasn't too crowded, so he could run around and look at the different fossils and animal displays. We took him through the cave they have, which actually does feel like a real cave. There was a little girl in there screaming because she was so scared (pretty funny, actually), but Sam was so brave! And he had a great time in the ice age cave. He was really into the rocks. The Children's Museum was a zoo. Free night definitely brings all types out. Some kid with a mohawk shoved Sam and he also had to contend with a little 3 year old girl who hadn't quite grasped the concept of sharing yet. Sam brushed it off and had fun at the sand table and on some of the other toys there. We'll go back sometime when it's not so busy!

HOT day at the zoo!

My friends, Laura, Ali, Beth, and I took all our kids (6 and one on the way for Beth) to the Cincy zoo this morning. We had fun although it was burning hot! It's all about the sunscreen and water. Luckily, we still saw lots of active animals. Sam loved the manatees and fish and the elephants taking a bath the best today. Here's just a few of the pics...

One of our attempts at a group shot. Believe it or not, this was actually the best one!

Sam, Lia, and Charlie watching the manatee. Sam LOVED the fish tank. We might need to take him to the aquarium soon!

In this shot, I'm holding a peacock puppet that scared the heck out of Sam. I love this picture.

June Fun

So, I'm a little behind on my blogging! We've had a nice June so far, and I'm finally off work. Today we spent a relaxing day at the pool (sorry, no pictures)! Sam had a blast in the pool. He does not mind getting in the water and even put his face in the water. He especially loved playing with the other kids in the baby pool. Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks - mom and dad's 35th anniversary and my friend Amy's wedding that I was a bridesmaid in...

Ben and I at the wedding reception - had a blast!

Just a funny picture of Sam with his rainboots on. They're hand-me-downs from our friend, Liz's boys. He requests that I put them on all the time.

Picnic at Ault Park

Friday evening after work we had a picnic dinner at Ault Park. Sam loved it! He had a sandwich and then walked all around while we finished ours. Afterward, we walked to the playground and saw two weddings going on. Perfect night! Here are some of the pictures we took....

Here Sam's doing "wheels on the bus." It's his favorite song right now and he breaks out into the motions whenever the spirit moves him.

At the Zoo with Luke

Last Sunday morning we went to the zoo with Melanie and Luke. This visit, Sam and Luke had a close encounter with a peacock during lunch. The peacock was walking around eating scraps from people's lunch. Sam was really interested but also a little nervous around it...

Holding on to my hand with a tight grip!

Luke' s either trying to hold Sam's hand or hit him - not sure which

Amy and Bob

Ben and I co-hosted a shower this weekend in Louisville for our friends, Amy and Bob. They're getting married June 20. The four bridesmaids and their husbands threw it for them.

These are some pictures from the cake tasting practice run we made them do. They passed! The second picture of them giving the thumbs up is a riot.

May Days

May has been an eventful month so far! So eventful that I have been taking lots of pictures, but not able to find time to post them. The first couple are from the beginning of the month when we went up to Ben's mom's to celebrate Ben's birthday. Grammy Will found an old toy of Ben's sister's that Sam loved. It was a Fischer Price popper push toy. Sam pushed it all over the house!

These next pictures are some of my favorites I've ever taken of Sam. These were taken the morning before his second haircut before heading off to daycare. He had major bedhead and I decided I must have a picture of it. In the first picture, he actually stopped and gave me a little smile. Then, in the next, he started laughing and made the craziest face, which I somehow was quick enough to catch on camera! The hair defies gravity.

This weekend we went down to Louisville to visit Rach, Gammon, and Jackson. It was another confirmation of how much we love our new minivan. Here's Sam, ready for the trip with plenty of Cheerios to snack on.

I love these last 2 pictures, too! I had talked to my mom earlier today and she was making a lime pie (a Pemberton family fave), and I decided to get the fixings while Sam and I were at the grocery. After I made it, I gave the beaters to Sam and Ben while we waited for our food on the grill. Sam went to town on them! I think it might be his new favorite dessert.
